In the Art of Living Purposefully,
we want to receive the New Millennium working in the search for awareness and
growth. With this spirit, we invite you to share with us a magical trip of work
and encounter with mystery and knowledge, traveling to five sacred places of the
New Toltecs in the Mexican Republic. This is a tour through the awareness and
the teachings coming directly from the Great Spirit, through the relation with
the Poderíos of this world.
Here you will find detailed
information about the experience and answers to questions that can arise when a
person considers the possibility of participating in an event such as this.
Why make a Pilgrimage to the New Millennium?
Millions
of people all around the world have their attention focused toward the dawn of
the New Millennium, as a special moment for life on this planet. This is the
reason why the moment between December 31st 1999 and the 1st of January 2000
will carry great quantities of energy that will make this date a magical
opportunity in terms of transformation and growth both at an individual as well
as global level.
In the Art of Living Purposefully, we want to take
advantage of this great opportunity by encountering the New Millennium through a
Pilgrimage to five of the Sacred Places of the New Toltequity. The Pilgrimage
will be a great rite of passage in order to enter into the new times with full
awareness.
We invite you to share with us this adventure of magic and
growth that will mean the beginning of a new stage in our lives.
What is the meaning of the New Toltequity? What is a Sacred
Pilgrimage?
The Toltecs were a people that developed one of the
most important cultures in the history of Ancient Mexico. They achieved
extraordinary scientific and spiritual development in which science and Spirit
(Tonal and Nagual) did not oppose, but rather were integrated, the same way the
eagle and the serpent merge in the figure of Quetzalcoatl.
This
knowledge was expressed in their traditions and their way of life.
The
tradition of Toltequity is based mainly in the search for equilibrium between
the two partsof ourselves that form our nature as dual beings: Tonal and
Nagual.
This integration between the everyday being and the other self
should be reflected in the life of the practitioner. Furthermore, it is based in
the knowledge of our relation with all the energy fields that surround us, from
the Great Poderios, the Sun, the Earth, Fire, Water and Wind, to our relation
with people and with nature. The Toltec path is the constant search for a
harmonious and reciprocal relation with everything that surrounds us.
The Toltec tradition does not refer only to a specific history or nationality,
but to a powerful expression of the human spirit in search of its true nature:
the battle for becoming what we really are.
The Toltec tradition is
not another religion, it is not even a body of beliefs. It is a body of powerful
practices that allows us to enter into that other region of our awareness that
we call the other self or the nagual, in which we recover our power as dual
beings and we walk the path that takes us back to the Great Spirit.
That is the reason why the Toltequity is a path open for everybody, regardless
of nationality or religious beliefs. It is a path we walk in order to make of
our lives an experience of plenitude and of our world a better place to live.
The New Toltequity is simply the modern expression of the practices of the
Toltec Warriors, structured accordingly by the characteristics and needs of
today's world.
One of the most important practices of the Toltec
tradition is the Sacred Pilgrimage, which takes place at two levels. On the
physical level, the pilgrims travel from the everyday world towards the Sacred
Places. At an internal level, the Pilgrimage is a movement from the Tonal
(everyday awareness) towards the Nagual (the awareness of the other self).
The Sacred Places are those which are more propitious for connecting consciously
with the Great Spirit who gives life to everything existing, and the Pilgrimage
is as life itself: a return path that takes us to the recovery of our secret
unity with all that exists.
Which are the goals
of this pilgrimage?
We will undertake this journey in order to
receive instructions from the Great Spirit for continuing our path of growth. We
make this Pilgrimage in search of a Vision that gives a deeper sense to our life
and in order to open the energetic door to the new times we are heading into on
the individual as well as planetary levels.
The goals of this
experience are therefore in two levels:
On the individual level, this
Pilgrimage has the goal of traveling to the Sacred Places in order to "see
our lives" under the light of the encounter with the Great Spirit.
In a global context, we have the goal of gathering together the seeds of the New
Toltequity, which we will then take back with us to the places we come from. And
it is there that we will sow the seeds of Toltec knowledge as expressed through
our way of life, so that this seed can grow and flourish in the hearts of more
people around the world.
How will we achieve these goals?
According to our nature as dual beings (Tonal and Nagual) the pilgrimage will
also have a dual sense from a logistical standpoint. On one hand it will be an
intensive personal growth workshop with many exercises and dynamics. On the
other hand it will be a spiritual experience with rituals and ceremonies that
have the aim of creating a bridge between the ancient practices of the Toltec
tradition and our everyday experience as members of modern urban societies. Our
continual effort during the journey will be our offering to the Great Spirit
with the hope of obtaining instruction, clarity and vision for our lives.
As a workshop, the work will be directed toward achieving specific goals related
to each one of the Sacred Places we will visit. Each place has unique
characteristics that are associated with different areas of human experience.
The
themes of our work, such as learning from the place of unconditional love,
recovering our passion for life, communication and interaction with others,
fluidity in the middle of battles, and our nature as luminous beings. Will each
correspond to one of the Poderios (Earth, Fire, Water, Wind and Sun) while each
Poderío will correspond to one of the Sacred Places we will visit.
Each place represents the opening of a door that leads to self-knowledge. At
each site the key elements of Toltequity will be revealed one by one.
The
sites we will visit during the Pilgrimage correspond to different ambiences,
climates, ecosystems, and energetic configurations, including the mountains, the
desert and the ocean, among others.
Once having accomplished the
challenge of the five Sacred Places, we will go to the ocean where we will
clarify and put in order everything that we have learned and the commitments we
have undertaken. We will seal our commitment with the Poderíos through
the elaboration and presentation of offerings that will represent our acquired
commitments. This final stage prepares us for returning to the everyday world.
It will be there, in our own life, where our individual pact with the Poderíos
will be accomplished.
The final stage prepares us for returning to
the everyday world. It will be there in our own life, where our individual pact
with the Poderíos will be accomplished
When will this journey begin?
The
Pilgrimage will begin in México City on Monday December 20th, 1999 in a
spot that constitutes the energetic heart of the Mexican land. From there we
will travel to the five Sacred Places. We finish in Mexico City on January 3rd,
2000.
The group will travel from one place to another in one or more
buses in the form of a caravan together with the other support vehicles.
When we are in each region where we will be working, we will make walks to get
to the precise places where we will perform the encounter with the Poderíos.
We will sleep in cabins, tents or hotels, according to the characteristics of
each region where the Sacred Place is located.
Participants will be
distributed in "Tribes" that will work as energetic units. This
cohesion will ease the organization of activities and will allow the energy and
power to expand the reach of each member of the Tribe.
Which are the requisites I must cover?
Having participated in any of the AVP programs (you can register for the
Pilgrimage and during the course of the year undertake the basic workshop "The
Jump to The Other Self").

the corresponding instructions that you will receive after registration.
It is recommended to have accomplished the AVP program for preparation for the
New Millennium, but it is not a mandatory requisite.
Notes:Although this program of preparation began
in January 1999, it will be possible to enroll throughout the year.
Regardless
of the time of the year in which you enroll, you will receive the full program
and you will try to undertake it in the remaining time adjusting it to your own
life situation.
Any special case in which a person interested in
participating has problems covering any of these requisites, you must consult in
a personal way with AVP Mexico's coordination team.
Can I bring my children or my direct relatives with me?
Yes. The fact that this trip will be carried out on dates that traditionally are
those of family encounters for many people, makes it difficult for many to
participate in the Pilgrimage without taking with them their direct relatives.
During the trip we will form a special group that will take care of the
children, organizing for them activities that will be related to those being
done by the adults. During different moments of the trip, children will be
allowed to share some of the activities with adults, as well as most of the
meals.
In the case of adult relatives, they will be admitted for the
Pilgrimage if previous to the trip they participate in any AVP basic workshop,
or they can also form part of the group that will take care of the children. In
this case it will be necessary to check every particular situation.
How much should I pay and what are the facilities I
will have?
Ask
for the fees
The payment of your fee includes the program of
activities we will carry out, and: Sleeping accommodations in tents, cabins or
hotels, according to the specific characteristics of each one of the regions we
will visit.

Discounts: We have discounts for members of the same family who
register together at the same time for the Pilgrimage, as long as they send
their payment at the same time. This discount is 10% for two people, and 15%
for more than two from the same family.
In the case of children, we
will not charge for the activities to be performed by them during the
Pilgrimage,
only
for their expenses.
If you are very interested in participating but
you need special support in order to be able to attend, write your proposal to
us through e-mail and we will be able to evaluate your particular case.
Refund Policy
Due to the complex
logistics of an event of this scale and all the arrangements we must make in
advance, we must enforce a strict refund policy.
For this reason, it is
important that you read carefully the following conditions before sending your
payment. As of this moment (6 months prior to the event) we are already paying
advances for some of the services we will use. In case of cancellation it will
not be possible for us to make refunds in cash. Therefore, refunds will apply as
payments for other AVP activities.
Every refund will require an
administrative expense charge of 25%.If you request a refund at least three
months prior to the beginning of the event, you will obtain a 75% refund of what
you paid. Which will be applied as payment toward any subsequent events taking
place within one year from the event that you did not attend (in this case, the
Pilgrimage). However, after one year this no longer applies. If you request a
refund at least one month prior to the beginning of the event, you will obtain a
50% refund of what you paid. Which will be applied as payment toward any
subsequent events taking place within one year from the event that you did not
attend (in this case, the Pilgrimage). However, after one year this no longer
applies.
How can I continue practicing the tradition in my
everyday life after the pilgrimage?
The Sacred Pilgrimage will be an intensive
experience of relation with the Poderíos according to the tradition of
the New Toltequity. The experience will positively affect our lives in such a
way that we will be receiving the New Millennium with more light in our hearts.
In
the same way, in the year 2000 the experience of the Toltequity clans will
begin. These will be autonomous groups that will receive programs of work from
AVP Mexico at a very low cost.
The idea is to be able to carry out with
work in continuity in the region where you live. In this way, we will form a
big net of New Toltecs gathered in local clans around the world. Ask us about
this powerful upcoming program.
Fees
You can insure your place with 40% of the total amount. Ask for the fees
