It has been said that past is destiny. While this is true for most people, we all have the opportunity of gaining awareness about how past trauma, family life and our personal history in general determine the energy patterns that shape our current and future life. Once that awareness is acquired, the recapitulation techniques bring us the possibility of re-designing our energy allocation so that it corresponds to what is really important for us in life. This energy shift will make your life much closer to the dreams of your authentic self.
May 24 to 28 - The Four Stances of Power
When a person seeking personal growth realizes that there is an ever present power around us that we are always interacting with and the way our life experiences are shaped is just the result of our constant negotiations and transactions with that force, that person becomes a spiritual warrior, striving always to clean and improve the quality of our connection with that force. With this realization comes the awareness that deciphering the jigsaw of our interactions takes time and requires learning to look beyond the surface. In this revealing retreat, you will learn about the four stances that you need to get in synch with the energy flow that comes naturally from the Great Spirit: 1. Understand and heal your connections 2. Understand and manage energy flow 3. Reconcile the opposites in your life 4. Befriend the mystery. When you are able to get a sense of the four stances of power, they become as a map that will orient you in your re-directing your energy and re-inventing your life and yourself.
July 19 to 23 - The Light of the Darkness
This retreat consists of spending
extended periods of time in complete darkness, combining blindfolding with other
shamanic techniques to induce heightened states of awareness. Staying in the
dark in this program does not mean remaining passive, bored or scared. We create
a safe environment in which participants encounter the light of the
darkness through a series of exercises and dynamics during which we realize
that we and the others are much more than, and much different from what the
neurotic mind is always telling us. It is liberating and revealing. We are able
to connect with each other in ways that transcend the social patterns and
limitations. What is even greater is that our expanded connection does not
finish with each other, but encompasses connecting with the Great Spirit through
interaction with the forces of nature or Big Poderios, which are its
visible face. With the mind quiet, the controlling ego out of the way and our
attention heightened the doorway to the other self and to the separate
reality opens and the learning process takes place beyond words.
September 20 to 24 - Recapitulation and the Healing Power of the Earth
(Re-Shifting Your Energy Patterns)
Similar in content and goals to our winter recapitulation, this early fall recapitulation retreat includes outdoor practices such as walks of attention, activities around night-fires, recapitulation in the earth, among many others. The emphasis here is that you are not healing yourself alone, but with the presence and support of Mother Earth’s power.
Advanced Retreats 2006 – with Victor Sanchez in Mexico

The state of Chiapas holds some of the most magical treasures of Mexico. Among them, we find the exuberant beauty of the jungle with its countless turquoise rivers and waterfalls and the richness and depth of the Mayan sacred sites. In this advanced retreat, we won’t be just observers of the scenery but will merge with those forces and be part of that beauty. Imagine yourself exploring ancient Mayan ruins, floating in the serenity of blue turquoise rivers, and intimate sharing with open-hearted friends around campfires in the intimacy of the jungle night. Activities to engage the power of the places, learning about the Toltec-Mayan connection, adventures in the jungle and activities in the water are included. Activities will take place in the surrounding Palenque area and we will visit Misol-ha, Cascadas de Aguazul, Palenque Archeological Zone, Usumacinta River, and Yaxchilan, the Mayan Archeological area on the border with Guatemala, among others.
October 16 to 20 -The Spirit of the Ocean in Oaxaca Coast, Mexico
An experience dedicated to making a profound connection with the Spirit of Aramara , The Mother of the Sea. This experience will include work with the Poderío of the Sea, with whom we will search for an internal connection that will provide us with knowledge, direction and guidance related to our issues in everyday life. This five-day event will take place in Bahía de San Agustín, 30 minutes from Santa Cruz Huatulco, in the State of Oaxaca, Mexico. San Agustín Bay is special because it does not have hotels or development, only palapas (rustic roofs) and beach ideal for camping in close contact with nature. You can sleep in tents or hammocks. One of the beauties of the place is its reef where you can see many color tropical fish and other forms of marine life. Starting right at the beach the beauty and marine life can be appreciated even by people who do not know how to swim.
